Which campaign brought that deal?

Attribution does not need a model with six touchpoints. For most mid-size B2B teams, knowing the campaign a deal first came from answers most of the questions people actually ask.

The question comes up in every budget conversation. "We spent that on the webinar series. What did we get?" If the answer is a pause and then "let me look into it", the budget is already at risk.

Start simple

Complex attribution models are tempting and rarely worth it at this size. A simpler rule gets you most of the way: record the campaign a person first came from, keep it on the deal, and never overwrite it.

It will not capture every influence. It will tell you, reliably, which efforts are bringing in people who turn into deals, which is what you need to decide where next quarter’s money goes.

What makes it hold up

  • The source is captured at the moment of the sign-up or request, not typed in afterwards.
  • It travels with the contact onto the deal.
  • It is visible on the deal itself, so a salesperson sees it too.
  • You can filter or group by it when you review.

Be honest about what it cannot say

A campaign with few deals may still have shaped how people see you. Say so. But put the number next to the cost, because a number with context beats a feeling without one.

How Levric does it

In Levric each deal card shows the company, the value, the next step and the campaign the deal came from. When someone submits a demo request, the deal opens with that source already attached.

To see how a campaign did, ask Chief what it brought in. The answer comes from the deals on your board, so you can open the cards behind it.
