Your list has 10,000 contacts. How many can actually receive?

A big list feels like an asset. If a chunk of it bounces, unsubscribed or never opted in, it is a liability that drags down every send.

Ask a marketing team how big its email list is and you get one number. Ask how many of those people can receive your next newsletter and you often get a pause. The two numbers are rarely the same, and the gap matters more than the headline.

Why the gap exists

  • Addresses that bounce, because the person left the company or the address was mistyped.
  • People who unsubscribed and were never removed from an old export.
  • Contacts who never agreed to hear from you, imported from a spreadsheet or a trade show scan.
  • Role addresses that nobody reads.

Why it costs you

Mailbox providers watch how people respond to what you send. Hard bounces and complaints tell them your list is not well kept, and they act on it by sending more of your mail to spam. That affects the clean part of your list too. One careless import can make the next newsletter harder to land for everyone.

What to check before each send

  • How many contacts are on the list, and how many of them can actually receive email.
  • Where each group came from, and whether those people agreed to hear from you.
  • Whether anyone who unsubscribed is still on a list.
  • Whether a new import is a separate list you can look at before it mixes with the rest.

None of this is glamorous. It is the difference between a list you can trust and one you hope works.

How Levric does it

In Levric, email lists and segments show how many contacts each one has and how many of them can actually receive. You see that before you send, not after the results come in.

Chief writes the newsletter or campaign and picks the audience you ask for. Nothing sends until a person approves it in the chat.
